Bio
Xina Xie currently is a Research Professor at the University of Wyoming. She is also an Advisory Scientist at the Idaho National Lab. Previously she worked as a research scientist at the University of Wyoming, the Principal Investigator and the R&D Scientist of DOE projects at the Correlations Company, and a research engineer at the China National Petroleum Corporation. She received her BS from the Southwestern Petroleum Institute, MS at the Sciences Academy of China, and Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming, all in petroleum engineering. Her research interests include enhanced oil and gas recovery by waterflooding and chemical treatment, and physical and chemical interaction between oil, water and rock surfaces, and oil/water/rock wettability. She has over 30 technical publications. Her current activities include low salinity waterflooding to improve oil recovery, chemical stimulation of oil and gas wells, and CO2 related issues.
