Sr. Research Scientist

The Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) seeks a qualified senior research scientist to work in Technical Development.
Essential Duties include: Work in a team with geologists and engineers to perform reservoir modeling and simulation for Wyoming oil and gas reservoirs. Gather, analyze and prepare reservoir property, well and production data for simulator input. Assist with EOR activities for academic, industry professionals and general public. Review scientific literature for information and techniques. Assist in training of students.
Education: MS and 10+ years or PhD and 5+ years experience in petroleum engineering or equivalent technical field.
Knowledge of: Multiphase-flow reservoir simulation, reservoir characterization, pressure transient analysis, volumetric calculations, decline curve analysis, material balance methods, equation-of-state modeling and history matching. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in simulation of CO2 flooding or gas injection for EOR. Working knowledge of commercial reservoir simulators, pre- and post- processing software, Linux operating system and Microsoft Office software package.
Skills and Abilities: Good oral and written communication skills. Work without direct supervision. Data interpretations, analysis, statistics, research reporting and publication preparation. Travel, when needed, to collect data and present results to State, national and international audiences. Work as a team.
